Galatasaray football club has proposed to establish several academies in Kazakhstan, Tengrinews reports citing Vesti.kz.
This is one of the most famous Turkish professional football clubs. Based in Istanbul, Galatasaray plays in both domestic and international competitions. It was the first Turkish team to win the UEFA Cup and UEFA Super Cup in 2000. In addition, it is the only Turkish team so far to have been ranked 1st on the IFFHS World Rankings.
Vice President of the Football Federation of Kazakhstan Seilda Baishakov mentioned Galatasaray when he spoke about Ole Brasil football academy.
In 2009, Kazakhstan and Brazil have reached an agreement on a three-year training group of young Kazakh boys in the academy of Ole Brasil. As a result, during this time the young footballers were extensively trained and taught regular subjects in the South American country.
Baishakov said that training at the Brazilian academy has produced excellent results and that opening more academies in Kazakhstan was very welcome.
"Galatasaray is going to open its football academies in Kazakhstan. A good many times I read that it is better to open an academy with the Europeans. But look at "Ole Brasil. It also brings many benefits. We already have a third enrollment. Our guys go to the homeland of the king of football Pele and train there for three years. When we entered into an agreement, we had a conversation with the Ambassador of Brazil, and he then said that if at least one person from the bunch can get into the national team - it is already a great success," Baishakov said.
Many graduates of Ole Brasil have gone on to play in professional Kazakhstani football clubs.
