Kazakhstan Ministry of Education and Science is going to study the experience of used of Lego products in Kazakhstan education, Director of the Ministry’s Education and Methods Center of Additional Education Umit Zheksenbayeva told Tengrinews.kz. The final decision has not been made yet. She said that robots have been introduced in September 2012 and are now actively used by students. “Children are constructing robots themselves. We have robots in Aktobe young engineers club, there are special technical clubs in Pavlodar and Ust-Kamenogork,” the speaker said. “Lego has presented interesting options and I think we will implement them in the teaching process. The whole world is doing it. This is a good thing,” she said. Earlier the media reported the LEGO Group was planning to expand its business in Kazakhstan. According to Kapital.kz, LEGO Education is ready to implement its LEGO Educational Solutions in Kazakhstan schools this year. According to the company, sets of educational connects and smart robots accompanied by teaching methods guides will help improve the quality of Kazakhstan’s education and modernize the existing educational system. No final decision on setting up sales of the educational goods in Kazakhstan have been made by LEGO yet. But negotiations with the Education Ministry have taken place. By Linda Buran
