In the coming two-three years colleges of international standard will be launched in Almaty and Astana. “We have started to develop the project international standard colleges, we are going to implement it together with Nanyang Polytechnic and perhaps with Temasek fund. Feasibility study is being made now, the construction will start next year. We hope, that the new colleges of Astana and Almaty will start operating in 2014-2015,” Vice-Minister of Education Sayat Shayakhmetov told BNews.kz. According to the official, special practice ground for educational and industrial training will be constructed at the territory of the colleges. “A drilling platform, pipelines and gas pipeline will be constructed in miniature or in real size at the territory of the education center. Students will be able to apply their skills at the practice grounds after their theoretical classes,” Deputy of Minister of Education said. The first college of that kind will be the educational institution in Almaty that is a project of Kasypkor holding, BNews.kz said.
