Baldyrgan program will ensure 100% coverage of pre-schools aged children in Kazakhstan with pre-school education, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing Ministry’s of Science and Education press-office. “The Ministry plans to work out a new program, called Baldyrgan as a continuation of the existing Balapan program (both programs target children of pre-school age) to further develop the early education system in Kazakhstan. This will provide for 100% coverage of 3-6-year-old children and 50% coverage of 1-6-year-old children by 2020 with pre-school education,” Ministry’s of Science and Education press-office said. 1650 kindergartens were opened in 2011 in Kazakhstan in the framework of Balapan program developed by Karim Massimov’s government. It is expected that 70% of children will be covered by pre-school education by 2015 and 100% by 2020.
