Karaganda State Technical University have signed Memorandums of Understanding with French Welding Institute and French Total in Astana recently, Tengrinews.kz reports. These Memorandums provide for cooperation between Karaganda State Technical University and French Total to develop international academic programs, research and facilitating development of international class welding in Kazakhstan. The document signed with French Welding Institute enables Karaganda Technical University to offer International Engineering and Welding course. “About 60 international welders are expected to graduate by the end of this year. They are being educated at the cost of the companies that are interested in training highly skilled welders. Oil and Gas Ministry’s contract agencies are interested in them as well. Total company assisted in preparation of educational facilities for welding training. French teaching personnel will work at the University and train the students and teachers,” Arystan Gazaliyev, Karaganda State Technical University rector said. Karaganda State Technical University joined the International Welding Institute in 2011 and became the 55th member of this organization. Besides Karaganda University, International Welding Centers have been established in Aktau and Uralsk cities. 12 Kazakhstan welders have already been certified with International Welder Diplomas.
