522 schools will be built in Kazakhstan within 5 years, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Kazakhstan Minister of Education of Science Bakytzhan Zhumagulov as saying at the education forum on August 25.
“We plan to build 522 new schools in the coming 5 years. This is a very good pace,” Zhumagulov said and compared it with Russian numbwhereof is planned to build 670 schools in the same period of time in Russia, while there are ten times more people living in there.
Construction will be made under the state-run program to switch to the 12-year education system from the current. 11-year one. The work is currently in process to change methodical standards and education programs, create new school books and teaching materials.
