3 dead and 2 injured in an accident involving a train and a sedan Mercedes in Zhambyl oblast in the south of Kazakhstan. The 3 men killed in the accident are military men from the Military Unit No.03811, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Ruslan Imankulov from the press-service of the oblast’s Emergency Situations Department. At 3:20 p.m. on March 26 a passenger train No.56 cruising between Kokshetau and Kyzylorda cities crashed into Mersedes-Benz 220 at the unregulated railway crossing in Akyrtobe village. “There were 5 people in the car: four military men and one woman. Three military men died after the crash. One soldier and the woman with various injuries were transported to the regional hospital of Lugovaya station,” Imankulov said. The train passengers suffered no damage. The train resumed the trip shortly after the crash. “We are investigating into the accident to find why the car suddenly stopped in the middle of the railway crossing,” Imankulov said.
