17-ton gasoline tank truck has fallen into a hole in the middle of the road in one of the microregions of Almaty, KTK TV channel reports.
200 litters of gasoline spilled into the road. Firemen arrived a quickly covered the gasoline puddle with foam. The road was completely blocked.
Local residents say that road workers are to blame for the incident. Last year they were repairing the sewage system of the nearby kindergarten that goes below that road. After finishing their works they covered the trench with sand and clay, locals say.
They say that this gasoline tank truck is not the first vehicle that has fallen into that ditch so far. From their account at least 10 cars and one buss have got damaged in the ditch.
“This tank of gasoline got spilled right next to my house! What it someone drops a cigarette? Everything would burn! And who would be held responsible in this case? This is very dangerous," a local dweller complains.
