A high wind warning has been issued for 7 regions of Kazakhstan, Tengrinews reports citing the Kazakhstan meteorological service Kazhydromet.
"High south-western and western wind of up to 15-20 m/s (54-72 km/h) with gusts of up to 25 m/s (90km/h) in Northern Kazakhstan, Akmola, Kostanay, Pavlodar and Karaganda Oblasts are expected on November 18,19 and during the night of November 20. In Eastern Kazakhstan Oblast the high wind is expected on November 19-20.
"Blizzards and ice-slicks are also expected in places on the said dates. The air temperature will drop to -12-17 °C (10-1.4 °F)," the message said.
Besides, according to the Emergency Situations Department of Western Kazakhstan Oblast, the high wind warning for November 18-19 also applies to Western Kazakhstan Oblast.
Blizzards and ice slicks are also expected in Aktobe Oblast on November 18.
A night fog is expected in Almaty city and Almaty Oblast. A strong wind of 18-23 m/s (65-83 km/h) is forecast for Zhalankol region. There will be ice slick and strong wind in Karaganda Oblast as well.
