Tengrinews.kz – A woman previously placed on an international wanted list has been detained in Shymkent, according to Polisia.kz.
According to investigators, the suspect is linked to several fraud cases that affected residents of Shymkent. The total damage is estimated at more than 80 million tenge.
“One of the episodes involved the unlawful acquisition of gold jewelry belonging to a businesswoman who sold gold items. The suspect abused the trust of an acquaintance, obtained valuable jewelry through deception and failed to fulfill her obligations,” police said.
In addition, the woman offered citizens the organization of overseas tourist trips at affordable prices. Under this pretext, she collected advance payments for tours, but the promised trips were never arranged and the money was not returned to the victims.
The suspect was subsequently placed on an international wanted list.
As a result of operational search measures, the woman was detained and placed in a temporary detention facility. Further investigative actions are underway to establish all the circumstances of the case and identify possible additional episodes of criminal activity.
