Atyrau oblast court issued a warrant of arrest of 14 residents of Atyrau apprehended on suspicion of preparation of terrorist attacks, Interfax-Kazakhstan reports citing press-secretary of the court Boranbai Galiyev. Arrest of other 4 suspects is being discussed at the moment. “There is a good chance that the applications of special forces and police will be satisfied today and court authorities will approve arrests of another 4 suspects,” Galiyev said. Earlier Tengrinews.kz English reported that Atyrau police apprehended a group of extremists suspected of preparing terrorist attacks. According to the Prosecutor of Atyrau oblast Seifulla Kemalov, 18 people were apprehended and six of them were arrested. However, Kazakhstan Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that 20 people were arrested in Atyrau on August 31. The operation on apprehension of the criminals was held on August 29. One of the members of the group resisted arrest and was killed with return fire.
