Tengrinews.kz – Russia has extradited to Kazakhstan a suspect in a group robbery who had been hiding for 20 years, citing the Prosecutor General’s Office.
The investigation established that in 2006, in Pavlodar, the suspect, acting as part of a group and using an object as a weapon, committed a robbery and stole the victim’s property.
The other accomplices were sentenced to various prison terms, except for this individual, who fled from the criminal prosecution authorities after committing the crime and was therefore placed on the international wanted list.
In September 2025, he was detained in Novosibirsk Region and was extradited to Kazakhstan at the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
The suspect has now been placed in a pre-trial detention facility.
The crime he is charged with carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison, with confiscation of property.
