Tengrinews.kz – At the request of the General Prosecutor’s Office, a drug trafficker was extradited to Kazakhstan from Russia.
It is reported that back in 2014, together with accomplices and by prior conspiracy, he sold large quantities of drugs in Pavlodar.
“While transporting 66 kilograms of marijuana and 8 kilograms of hashish for the purpose of further distribution, the suspect was detained by police officers. However, in 2015, he was acquitted by a court ruling. Subsequently, following the prosecutor’s appeal, the acquittal was overturned, and he was sentenced to 10 and a half years in prison,” the Prosecutor General’s Office said.
During this time, seeking to avoid criminal punishment, the perpetrator went into hiding from justice. He was placed on the international wanted list, where he remained for more than six years.
In December last year, the wanted man was detained in the Moscow region.
The convicted person is now being held in a pre-trial detention facility and will serve the above-mentioned sentence.
