A special police operation has been completed in Ahsel Kent region in Almaty (in the multi-storey residential building where bursts and explosions have been heard today), Interfax-Kazakhstan reports citing the witness. “The operation is over. No shots or explosions are heard anymore. There were around 25-30 of them (shots and expositions). Police said that all suspects were shot down by the sniper. They cannot tell the exact number but they say that 4 to 6 people have been killed,” the speaker said. The apartments are currently being checked by deminers. A witness also told that “the building's residents were evacuated early in the morning on the pretext of a training”. The police says that the special operation was held to apprehend policeman’s murderers. The territory around the building was cordoned. Volley of automatic gunfire and explosions were heard in the building, smoke was issuing from the windows. This Saturday Buran-170 patrol car was attacked in Almaty. One policeman was shot on the spot, another one was wounded in the head. He is currently in coma. According to the preliminary information, the criminals took possession of the policemen’s service guns. Almaty police was searching for three young people suspected of the attack on the police patrol who escaped the murder site on a silver Hyundai.
