Four criminals have been eliminated in Atyrau suburbs in Kazakhstan during an anti-terrorist operation on apprehension of the suspects of attack on patrol police officers and Atyrau Interior Department, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the press-service of Kazakhstan General Prosecutor’s office. Several persons suspected of being involved in the armed attack on Atyrau police and Interior Department on September 15 were discovered in one of the houses of Koktem village in Atyrau suburb. The police arranged an anti-terrorist operation to apprehend the criminals. All the residents of the neighboring houses were evacuated. “The criminals were blocked in the house but refused to surrender and started shooting at special forces' officers. As a result all four criminals were eliminated,” the message states. According to the prosecutors, there were no casualties among civilians. Several weapons, armament, bottles with incendiary mixtures and components for self-made explosives were discovered at the site. “The check of the special operation's sites and the investigation is in process,” the press-service writes. This special operation followed the attack on police when two unknown persons shot at a guard of Atyrau Interior Department at 11:52 p.m. on September 14 wounding him in the leg. The criminals disappeared after the police officer returned fire. A little later two unknown persons tried to enter Atyrau Interior Department. They threw a bottle with incendiary mixture towards the checkpoint and fired a shot at the militaryman on duty. The criminals disappeared after the duty officer shot back at them. A militaryman of the military base 5546 was wounded in the second attack. It took Kazakhstan police several days and a lot of efforts to locate the criminals.
