NSC seizes grenade launcher and Kalashnikov rifles in large-scale operation

Tengrinews.kz – In April, the National Security Committee, together with police and under the coordination of the prosecutor’s office, carried out operational-search measures in Almaty, Shymkent and several regions. As a result, illegal arms trafficking was stopped, and dozens of weapons and ammunition were seized.

Tengrinews.kz – In April, the National Security Committee, together with police and under the coordination of the prosecutor’s office, carried out operational-search measures in Almaty, Shymkent and several regions. As a result, illegal arms trafficking was stopped, and dozens of weapons and ammunition were seized.

A total of 63 weapons were seized. Among them were four Kalashnikov assault rifles, 38 shotguns, 20 pistols, an RShG-2 rocket assault grenade launcher, as well as four grenades and 188 rounds of ammunition.

In East Kazakhstan Region, industrial explosives were additionally discovered and seized. Their total weight was 346.5 kilograms.

Operational and investigative measures are being carried out on all identified facts. The agency did not disclose further details, citing the requirements of Article 201 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
