Tengrinews.kz – The National Security Committee (NSC), in cooperation with the competent authorities of Russia and Kyrgyzstan, conducted two special operations to dismantle international drug trafficking channels, according to the committee’s press service.

According to the statement, as a result of joint actions in the mentioned countries, four members of a criminal group involved in wholesale drug sales were detained.

"Twenty kilograms of synthetic drugs were seized from illegal circulation. Operations to neutralize international drug trafficking routes are ongoing," the NSC press service reported.

Earlier, the committee, in cooperation with law enforcement and special services of foreign countries, dismantled a drug smuggling route to East Asian countries. As a result of the joint operation, more than 10 kilograms of methamphetamine were seized. The estimated street value of the drugs in the destination country is around $2.4 million (approximately 1.2 billion tenge).
