NSC carried out operation in Almaty: gang members detained

Tengrinews.kz – Officers from the National Security Committee and the police carried out an operation in Almaty to detain two members of a criminal group.

According to the NSC, on July 14 two men were arrested on suspicion of kidnapping and murdering a resident of Ust-Kamenogorsk in May 2025. They had been wanted since June 2025.

A court has placed them in custody for two months. The detainees have been placed in a temporary detention facility.

In addition, authorities are considering prosecuting an Almaty resident who, according to investigators, knowingly harbored the suspects from justice.

The NSC reminded that harboring crimes and criminals is a criminal offense under Article 432 of the Criminal Code.

Other information about the case is not subject to disclosure in accordance with Part 1 of Article 201 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
