An operation was carried out to return wanted citizens to the country.
“On May 7 and 12, four Kazakhstanis suspected of committing terrorist crimes were brought back from foreign countries under escort by the National Security Committee’s special forces,” the agency reported.
The press service clarified that the individuals had been hiding abroad for a long time and were detained based on National Security Committee notices.
“Investigative actions are being carried out against them as part of the relevant criminal cases. Other information, in accordance with Part 1 of Article 201 of the Criminal Procedure Code, is not subject to disclosure,” the National Security Committee noted.
As a reminder, in April the National Security Committee, together with police and under the coordination of the prosecutor’s office, carried out operational-search measures in Almaty, Shymkent and several regions. As a result, illegal arms trafficking was stopped, and dozens of weapons and ammunition were seized.
