Kazakhstan students accused of stealing wheels tires from luxury cars in the U.S. were released on bail, the lawyer Aleksei Tarassov told Tengrinews.kz. The lawyer noted that Kazakhstan citizens studied in the U.S. holding student visas. Two cases were initiated against them: immigration and criminal. The students applied to Tarassov for help in suspension of the immigration case and he managed to convince the local authorities to release the students on bail. According to the lawyer, he is not the defendant on the criminal case, that's why he does not know its details. Earlier Tengrinews.kz English reported that three Kazakhstan students were apprehended for stealing wheels from expensive cars in the U.S. 4 luxury vehicles were stripped off their wheels and tires in Hobby Airport, Houston, from January to March. The students of Houston Community College, 17-year-old Temirlan Kantay, 19-year-old Yerzhigit Zhanbolatu and 22-year-old Nurbol Tangatov have already confessed. They are charged with organized crime. According to the criminals, Tangatov have been the lookout while the other two stole the wheels. Earlier the lawyer Aleksei Tarassov helped to release Kazakhstan citizen Aleksei Li who was arrested in the U.S. for aiding and abetting money laundering. Li was under arrest from December 2011 to March 2012. According to the investigation, an unidentified person asked Li to submit his banking details, promising him good money from trading at a stock exchange. Li, however, did not receive the money and the amount of $400 thousand appeared on the criminals' account after the hackers successfully attacked a victim-company's account.Tarassov added that this money was stolen by the members of the group, who are also citizens of Kazakhstan.
