I know that Nursultan Nazarbayev has given instructions and is personally supervising, so that all the families of the victims get a material support in this very difficult time,” the Advisor said. The oil-producing city Zhanaozen in Mangistau oblast faced a wave of public unrest on December 16. The death toll stands at 16. One person died in the clashes in Shetpe village December 17. The investigation is under way. Curfew has been announced in Zhanaozen.
