According to Court Watch, Kazakhstani Alexander Khodyrev is implicated in the case along with Russian national Pavel Kublitsky. Court documents related to the case have also been published online.
The suspects are alleged to have managed the WWH platform, which is used for trading and exchanging illegally obtained information on the dark web. Investigators describe this criminal forum as something between eBay and Reddit, the portal notes.
According to official spokesperson Aibek Smadiyarov, no information from the American side has been received regarding the case.
"We have requested confirmation from U.S. law enforcement agencies. Therefore, we cannot confirm or deny the detention of our citizen," Smadiyarov said.
