Tengrinews.kz - A Kazakhstani citizen suspected of inciting religious hatred has been extradited from Russia, according to the Prosecutor General's Office.
According to the agency, from 2016 to 2017 in Almaty, the suspect repeatedly committed deliberate actions as part of a group by prior conspiracy, aimed at inciting religious hatred, insulting the religious feelings of citizens, and promoting exclusivity, superiority, and inferiority of citizens based on their religious beliefs.
"Accomplices in this crime have already been sentenced to various types of punishment, and the main suspect, after committing the crime, went into hiding and was placed on international wanted lists. Subsequently, in 2017, the perpetrator committed a robbery in Moscow and was convicted by a Russian court. After serving his sentence in Russia, he was returned to Kazakhstan to face criminal charges," the statement says.
The suspect is currently held in a pre-trial detention center. The crime he is accused of carries a penalty of imprisonment for a term of five to ten years.
Recall: earlier, there was also a case when a Georgian citizen extradited from Poland to Kazakhstan for traffic violation.
