Tengrinews.kz - Uzbek citizen swallowed a bag of drugs right in front of officers from the Financial Monitoring Agency of Kazakhstan.
It was reported that during the inspection of a Lada Largus at the "Tazhen" customs post in the Beineu district of Mangistau region, a suspicious package wrapped in green duct tape was found on a citizen born in 1991.
"During the search, the detainee snatched a roll out of the officer's hands and swallowed it. He was taken to hospital, where a CT scan showed a foreign body in his stomach. According to the results of the forensic examination, the convolution turned out to be a substance of methamphetamine in a large size with a total weight of 1.26 grammes," the official report stated.
The detainee is currently held in a temporary detention center, and a pre-trial investigation into the drug possession case is underway.
Previously, Afghan citizen was sentenced to 15 years in Shymkent.
