Tengrinews.kz – The National Security Committee (NSC) has reported new efforts to combat the illegal circulation of narcotics, psychotropic substances, and precursors in Kazakhstan.
According to the NSC, since October, officers have carried out 10 counter-narcotics operations, dismantling three international and three regional drug supply channels, as well as shutting down an underground laboratory and a drug plantation.
In total, 622 kilograms of drugs were seized, including psychotropic substances, hashish, and marijuana.
“With court approval, 12 Kazakh citizens and 3 foreign nationals have been taken into custody on suspicion of involvement in these offenses,” the NSC said.
Pre-trial investigations are ongoing. Other details are withheld under Article 201 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
