Atyrau court has issued rulings on the group of persons involved in forgery of passports for Mukhtar Ablyazov’s relatives, the press-service of the city court told Tengrinews.kz. The criminal case on forgery of passports for former BTA Bank chairman’s relatives was initiated against seven people. According to the investigators, in 2009-2012 the forged documents were issued to the banker’s children (Madiyar, Aldiyar and Alua), as well as Syrym Shalabayev (Ablyazov’s brother-in-law) and his family members (Zhanna SHalabayeva, Aigul Shalabayeva, Salima Shalabayeva and Alma Shalabayeva). According to the ruling, former employee of the migration police Zhomart Kushaliyev was found guilty of receiving a large bribe and was sentenced to 9 years in prison with forfeiture of property. He also lost his police lieutenant title. Former employee of the migration police Kuzembayeva was found guilty of taking several bribes and was sentenced to 7 years and 2 months in prison with forfeiture of property. The court obliged another employee of the migration police Iskakova to pay a penalty of around 3.4 million tenge ($22.7 thousand) for forgery. The marketing expert of Ellis Region Assylbek Saifullin was sentenced to two years in jail for mediation in bribery. The accused Isseyeva was found guilty of mediation in bribery. However, the court considered her confession and active cooperation with investigators and sentenced her to a suspended 2 year prison term. Besides, senior inspector of migration police Ayazbayeva who committed the forgery and the employee of the oblast Justice Department Kuanova who abused her office were released from penalties based on Kazakhstan Law On Amnesty in relation to the 20th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s independence. On May 31, 2013 Ablyazov’s wife, 47-y.o. Alma Shalabayeva and their young daughter Alua were deported to Kazakhstan from Italy because they were staying in Italy illegally and using fake passports. Shalabayeva and her daughter are currently staying in Kazakhstan under a written pledge not to leave the country.
