National Security Department arrested 6 terrorists in Uralsk, Tengrinews.kz reports citing press-service of Kazakhstan General Prosecutor’s Office.
“The court sanctioned arrest of all members of the group on February 7. Investigation is currently in process for full and comprehensive analysis of the case’s circumstances,” the prosecutor’s message states.
According to the authority, members of the group confessed of their belonging to a terrorist organization. These confessions were objectively confirmed by the evidences received during the investigation. “During searches in their houses components of self-made explosives and printed materials promoting terrorism were discovered,” the authority explained.
6 accused were apprehended on February 4 by an investigation group of West-Kazakhstan Oblast's National Security Commission along with the Oblast's Interior Department. The activities of the 6-members terrorist group were suppressed. The criminal case was initiated for creation and management of terrorist group and participation in its activities.
