President Nazarbayev meets heads of Patentes Talgo S.A. and Airbus Military

On his working visit to Spain President Nazarbayev met Carlos Palacio Oriol of Patentes Talgo S.A. and Domingo Ureňa-Raso of Airbus Military, a Tengrinews.kz journalist reports, citing President’s website. At the meeting with Talgo’s President the sides dwelt on cooperation in designing, assembling and maintaining railroad equipment, as well as in joint manufacturing passenger railway cars. President Nazarbayev told the cooperation with the Company has bright prospects; “notably, a project to produce railway cars is being implemented in partnership with KazakhstanTemirZholy National Railways Operator. 70 railway cars have been produced so far; plans are there to produce to bring the production up to 150 railway cars. I remember having talks with King Juan Carlos on launching railway cooperation; today we can see tangible results of the arrangements. There is a task to launch a high-velocity railway link between Astana, the country’s capital city, to Almaty, the ex capital city, and I hope to further cooperation with the Company”, President Nazarbayev said. Carlos Palacio Oriol emphasized that Patentes Talgo S.A. had been working with Kazakhstan partners for over a decade. “It is gratifying to see that President Nazarbayev has a clear vision of how the country’s railway sector, high velocity network in the first place, should develop. Cooperation with Kazakhstan is of paramount importance for us and we will do everything in our power to further the cooperation”. The talks with President of Airbus Military dwelt among other things on maintenance of military transport aircraft. Domingo Ureňa-Raso stressed that the long-term operations of the Company in Kazakhstan is possible owing to good relationship between the two countries’ governments. He also expressed the Company’s willingness to contribute to aviation industry’s development in Kazakhstan. Following the talks, an MoU was signed between Kazakhstan Engineering and Airbus Military. Besides, President Nazarbayev met heads of MAXAM (development, manufacture and sale of civil explosives); OHL (construction of sea ports, airports, motor and railroads); Next Limit Technologies (simulation software for a broad range of applications in Computer Graphics, Science and Engineering). During the visit President is to meet Spain's King Juan Carlos, head of the country’s Government Mariano Rajoy and leaders of a number of Spanish companies.
