President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev received Total and General Electric Transportation senior management in his residence, Tengrinews.kz reports referring to the press service of the head of the state.
At the meeting with Total vice president Yves-Louis Darricarrere President of Kazakhstan said: “We have established good relationship with Nikolas Sarkozy. The presidential elections were held recently in France. We are ready to work with the new president. Kazakhstan has developed strategic relationship with Total. You are taking part in a range of our projects and we plan to develop our cooperation further.”
“We are members of the consortium in Kashagan project. In addition, we will develop other projects. I hope for cooperation in the framework of Kazakh-French Council as well,” Darricarrere said in return.
Kazakhstan President held another meeting with Lorenzo Simonelli, CEO of General Electric Transportation.
During the meeting, the President stressed that Kazakhstan has developed close cooperation with General Electric Transportation. Together with Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (national rail road company) it has successfully implemented the project of setting up a locomotive assembly plant in Astana.
