Nazarbayev meets with ConocoPhillips chairman

President Nursultan Nazarbayev has met with Chairman and CEO of ConocoPhillips Ryan Lance who arrived for the 26th meeting of the Foreign Investors Council, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the President’s press-service. “The meeting covered results of ConocoPhillips’ activities in Kazakhstan and changes in its priorities. Besides, they discussed the agenda of the coming meeting of the Foreign Investors Council,” the message states. During the meeting Nazarbayev and Lance agreed that the years of activities of ConocoPhillips in Kazakhstan were successful and mutually beneficial. ConocoPhillips is one of the biggest oil producing companies in the world. It employs around 16.9 thousand people in 30 countries. ConocoPhillips owns 8.4 percent in NorthCaspian Operating Company (NCOC) developing giant Kashagan oil field at the Caspian Sea in Kazakhstan. Last year the company notified the Kazakhstan government of its intention to sell its stake in the project to Indian company ONGC VideshLimited.
