Medical and health-improvement hotel Borzhomi-Likani owned by KazMunaiGas-Service will open in October 2012, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia Paata Kalandadze. "As for the hotel, I am happy to announce that the official opening of Borzhomi hotel will be held this October. The hotel will be managed by the hotel network operating in Tbilissi and Batumi," the Ambassador said and tagged this event "a breakthrough" in all directions. Medical and health-improvement hotel Borzhomi-Likani was bought by KazMunaiGas-Service in May 2006 for $10 million. The deal was closed in August after the final payment. The resort was later closed for reconstruction but construction was suspended for several years. The survey showed that there were serious flaws in construction of auxiliary facilities. That's why a new cost estimate was developed for the new hotel. This required additional time and money. A new reconstruction project was developed and reconstruction started in August 2011 . "You opened the hotel in Tbilisi in 2009 and the hotel in Batumi last year. This is the third project that lasted for many years. Construction will finish in October and we will all be able to go there," Paata Kalandadze added.
