KazMunaiGas Exploration&Production was established in March 2004 through a merger of UzenMunaiGas and EmbaMunaiGas. KMG EP is a branch of Kazakhstan's state-run oil and gas company KazMunaiGas National Company. KMG EP is listed at the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange, and its GDRs (global depository receipts) are listed at the London Stock Exchange. The company attracted over $2 billion during its IPO in September 2006.
