Kazakhstan will ship freights from China faster. Kedentransservice Transport and Logistics company has opened a regional office in Chinese People’s Republic, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing company’s press-office. “We have designed several routes, calculated tariff rates and time. For the first time a private train fleet is being used to handle transportation across Kazakhstan. All these enables us to ship cargoes from China to Central Asian countries, Russia and Europe faster. For example, it takes 14 days to transport a cargo from Dostyk railway station (Kazakhstan-Chinese border) to Germany,” President of Kedentransservice Edil Iskakov said. He explained that the company offers prepackaged container transportation services through Dostyk border-crossing point. Its new regional office is located in Urumqi city, in Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, according to the company’s press-office. The company believes that regional office provides additional opportunities to attract Chinese cargo traffic to Dostyk station. This year the company plans to increase its transshipment capacities investing 460 million tenge ($3.1 million) in it. Besides, they are going to open a regional office in Uzbekistan, because at present more than 70% of transit cargoes go to Central Asian countries through Uzbekistan. The company have already signed a protocol with Uzbekistan Railways to open the regional office.
