Kazakhstan Ministry of Labor and Social Protection plans to create around 1 million jobs as part of the state programs by 2020, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Minister of Labor and Social Protection Serik Abdenov. “Kazakhstan has significant labor resources. Production is growing and the demand for labor force is raising. The plan is to create around 1 million jobs as part of the state programs by 2020. The question is whether the labor resources are going to be available at that time. We have made an analysis and found that 1.5 million people would enter the labor market by that time. Besides, the self-employed people in Kazakhstan currently total at over 1.5 million,” the Minister said. Abdenov said that over 100 thousand people had been covered during the first 1.5 years of implementation of the Employment Program-2020. 60 percent of them were young people. By Gulnara Zhandagulova
