Managers of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (national railroad company), KazAtomProm (national nuclear company) and KazMunaiGas (national oil company) told about the current and future optimization of their structures during the extended meeting in Samruk-Kazyna National Welfare Fund, Tengrinews.kz reports. “In 2011-2012 we are working on merging the headquarters of KazAtomProm and Gornorudnaya Kompaniya (mining company) for optimization of managerial processes. 22 percent of the total personnel of the headquarters of these two companies have been axed as of January 1. Optimization will reach 26 percent by the end of the year. The total number of administrative personnel terminated in 2009-2012 will make 30 percent,” head of KazAtomProm Vladimir Shkolnik said. According to Vice-President of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy Mr.Kizatov, the company will optimize 17 percent of its managerial personnel and 4 percent of its production personnel by 2014. KazMunaiGas is expecting job cuts in the headquarters. According to Lyazzat kiinov, the total number of KazMunaiGas affilicated companies will be cut by 53, i.e. from 244 to 191 companies. Optimization in state organizations and national companies was initiated under the President’s instruction.
