A new sport complex opened in Syntas village of Kazygurt region in South-Kazakhstan oblast, Tengrinews.kz reports citing press-service of Cameco Kazakhstan. Construction of the facility was initiated by the branch office of Canadian corporation Cameco in Kazakhstan, one of the biggest uranium producers in the world. The new sports facility of over 4,000 square meters includes fenced areas for basketball and volleyball, a football field and a gym. Besides, the complex is equipped for boxing trainings. The facility can fit in over 100 visitors in case of competitions. The project is worth 62 million tenge ($413 thousand). The ceremony of the official opening of the complex was attended by President of Cameco Kazakhstan Galymzhan Pirmatov, head of South-Kazakhstan oblast department of tourism, physical culture and sport Polat Kyrkybayev, Akim (Governor) of Kazygurt region Bolatbek Kistauov and others. Kistauov congratulated the region’s sportsmen and citizens on opening of the new sport complex. He expressed confidence that the number of young people willing to do sports will increase after launch of the new facility.
