Askarbek Nabiev has been appointed the new Chairman of the Board at BTA Bank, Tengrinews reports citing the press office of the Kazakh bank.
The Board of Directors of BTA Bank terminated the authority of Magzhan Auezov as Chairman of the Directors Board of the bank on March 30. Auezov also resigned from the BTA Bank Board of Directors to get a “transfer to another parental bank appointment”. The appointment came the following day, March 31, when Auezov was named the new Chairman of the Management Board of KazKommertsBank.
KazKommertsBank and BTA Bank are now merging.
After Auezov left Askarbek Nabiyev was appointed as acting BTA Bank Board of Directors Chairman since March 31, 2015.
Following its meeting on April 6 and 8 BTA Directors Board elected Askarbek Nabiev to replace Auezov as the new Chairman of the Board of Directors starting from April 8.
Nabiev, an honors graduate of the Kazakh State Academy of Management with a major in finance, has been working in KazKommertsBank since 1997. In 2007 Nabiev was appointed Managing Director and a member of the Board of Directors of KazKommertsBank and has been supervising the financial block of the bank since.
He has also been supervising the financial block of BTA Bank since 2014 as a member of the bank's Board of Directors.
In addition, Kairzhan Mimikenov resigned from the positions of BTA Bank's Managing Director and a member of its Directors Board starting from May 1, 2015. There is no information on his further appointment yet.
Otherwise the banks board of directors structure has remained unchanged.
