Attila opera by Giuseppe Verdi will be performed at Astana Opera house once again on December 16, Tengrinews reports citing the press-service of the theater. The part of battailous Odabella, daughter of the Lord of Aquileia, will be performed by Zhupar Gabdullina, winner of several international contests. Earlier, the opera singer performed this part at Abai State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater in Almaty. Director of Astana Opera Tolegen Mukhametzhanov said that the leading singer passed was selected for the Odabella's role through a contest where she demonstrated the beauty and range of her lyric and dramatic soprano. The holder of the world's best bass singer title Ildar Abdrazakov, Italian artists Claudio Sgura and Luciano Ganci will also perform the lead parts in Atilla opera on the stage of Astana Opera again. Outstanding Italian opera director Pier Luigi Pizzi will show Atilla as a man with high intentions, feelings, the man who saves a library from fire and forgives his enemies that plotted against him. The maitre pointed out that Verdi's Atilla opera was full of drama. "The stage equipment and mechanisms enable use to change the decorations in front of the audience's very eyes to recreate the scenes of the opera acts. The images will look very clear and realistic and will bring up the images of the faraway world in the people's minds. The world that had everything: wounds from combats, fury of conquerors, hopes for revenge that never died and a fierce will for freedom. Verdi's dramatic themes of love, passion, jealousy, revenge, sacrifice and death are magnificently presented in this opera," the director said. Exclusive costumes for the Atilla staging were prepared by Italian dress-making studio Tirelli. The stage decorations were brought to Astana from Italy as well. The tickets to the December 16 performance range from 500 tenge ($3) to 9000 tenge ($60). The beginning is at 7:00 p.m. and the address of the venue is Kunayev Str. (at the crossing with Turan Av.).
