The opera will run from October 22nd to 24th. For all lovers of the Italian Romantic composer who cannot see Verdi’s opera on Astana’s best stage, Tengrinews TV will broadcast the premier and the following to shows live.
Russia’s most beautiful soprano Irina Lungu, who was acknowledged as one of the best performers of Verdi operas will sing Violetta’s part. Italy’s Vincenzo Costanzo, one of the youngest tenors in the opera, will take Alfredo’s role on the Astana Opera stage. A baritone so deep and dimensional that it reminds of Piero Cappuccilli Simone Piazzola from Italy will become Germont. Finally, the young and exceptionally talented Maestro Francesco Ivan Ciampa from Italy will stand at the helm of the Astana Opera Orchestra.
The opera that premiered on March 6, 1853 on the Venetian stage tells a story of a woman rejected by the society. Verdi based his opera on Alexandre Dumas’s The Lady of the Camellias. The composer presented the beauty and purity of Violetta’s soul not only among her peers but also in comparison to a virtuous representative of the bourgeois Giorgio Germont.
La traviata opens at 7:00 pm at the Astana Opera and live on Tengrinews TV every day for three days. The world opera stars will be singing on the first and on the third day. The second day will feature Kazakhstani opera stars singing the lead parts of the Verdi opera.
