Unforgettable soprano Anna Pirozzi (Tosca) will perform for the guests of the festival along with tenor Massimo Giordano (Cavaradossi) and Alberto Gazale (Scarpia), baritone.
Kazakh opera singers from the Astana Opera Artur Kaipkulov, Sundet Baigozhin, Beimbet Tanarykov, Talgat Galeev, Bolat Yesimkhanov and Aisha Orynbasarova will also perform in Tosca.
Puccini’s masterpiece premiered at the Teatro Costanzi in Rome on Januray 14, 1900. The melodramatic opera presents a love story of an opera singer Tosca and Mario Cavaradossi, a painter, while Napoleon’s army roams Italy. Tosca was staged in the Astana Opera for the first time on May 9.
The Silk Road Festival will take place from September 17 to October 5. Astana residents and guests will have an opportunity to experience the performances of the best opera singers and ballet dancers from Italy, France, China, Russia and Kazakhstan. Astana Opera will present the most memorable operas during the festival.
