Russia names its Eurovision-2103 participant; Kazakhstan candidate outflanked

Dina Garipova, winner of The Voice Russian reality talent show, will represent Russia at the Eurovision-2013 song contest, RIA Novosti reports. Garipova will participate in the Eurovision-2013 song contest with her What If song. “We are pleased to announce that Dina Garipova, winner of The Voice show, will represent Russia in the Eurovision-2013 song contest,” Larissa Krymova, PR manager of Russia’s Channel One said. Channel One that will air the Eurovision-2013 song contest at the territory of Russia was entrusted with choosing the Russia’s participant on its own. Kazakhstan singer Luina (Luiza Karinbayeva) also applied to represent Russia at the Eurovision-2013 song contest. The 58th Eurovision song contest will be held in the Swedish city of Malino in May 2013. Sweden won the 2012 contest that was held in Baku.
