Official representative office of the prestigious international advertisement festival Cannes Lions opened in Kazakhstan, Tengrinews.kz reports. Kazakhstan citizens are familiar with the festival by several screenings of the festival's best ads. But now Kazakhstan has an opportunity to officially take part in the world's advertisement market. "Twenty years ago, after collapse of the Soviet Union, foreign ads flooded our country, making Kazakhstan a part of the global consumer market. But all this time international ads have been exported and we have never made it into the international ads market ourselves. Right now creative Kazakhstan citizens have this opportunity," official representative of the international festival Cannes Lions in Kazakhstan Askhat Uskembayev said. The first national contest Young Lions will be held during preparation for Cannes Lions-2012 in Kazakhstan for young professionals specializing in advertising, marketing and marketing communications. According to the organizers, the contest's winners will get Apple iPads and an opportunity to visit this festival in Cannes in June and take part in the master-classes of the legends of the world's advertising. Cannes Lions festival established in 1954 annually presents the best media works. Most respectable ads professionals from 20 countries arrives in Cannes for participation in the festival annually. Their works are awarded with bronze, silver and golden lions in over 10 categories.
