The festival of famous Beatles songs that was supposed to take place in front of the Republic Palace in Almaty on August 30 was postponed without any prior notice to the audience. The weather conditions was aledgely the cause of the postponement, Dailynews.kz reports. However there was no rain in Almaty on August 30 and the "weather conditions" did not prevent Kazakh singers from performing in place of the Beatles Fest. "It is not yet known when the Beatles Fest will be held," the Culture Department of Almaty city said. Instead of the planned event Kazakhstan stars Nagima Yeskaliyeva, Zhanna Orynbasarova, Jigitter band and other artists performed that night. Many people, especially those who came to the Republic Palace specially for the Beatles Fest, were disappointed and some even said they felt cheated. There are even people who believe that there was no Beatles Fest planned and the alert about the festival was distributed for the sole purpose of attracting most people to the performance of Kazakh singers.
