More than 200 people applied for participation in ART FEST Contest, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing Aliya Berdiyeva, the Contest’s PR-Manager, as saying. “More than 200 works have been submitted already. Artists, designers, animators, clothes designers and cinematographers can participate in the contest. The contest is the most expected and large-scaled event of this summer. ART FEST Contest is held as part of the 3rd Astana Action Films Festival initiated by Timur Bekmambetov (famous film director of Kazakh origin) and supported by metropolitan authorities. Artists from South Korea, Japan and China will take part in the contest as well,” Berdiyeva said. According to the organizers, one of the works submitted for the contest was made by 11-y.o. Dana Zhaksenbayeva who applied for animation category. The contest unites gifted, talented and creative young people from different arts fields. Not only professionals, but also amateurs take part in the contest. The organizers have received letters of gratitude from participants who are thankful for the chance to participate in the event that motivates young people to demonstrate their creativity. All the works submitted for the Contest will be judged by Contest’s jury after June 1. Authors of the best works will be invited to the Festival. Their the artists will be offered to create a Kazakhstan Superhero named Astana. Several co-working zones will be made for joint work of the participants who will be working on the Superhero under close inspection of media representatives. ART FEST Contest winners will be announced at the official awarding ceremony that will be held on July 3 during the Action Films Festival closing ceremony.
