The world-famous Spanish actor Antonio Banderas has visited Almaty and handed a 38 million tenge ($253 thousand) check to Ayala charity fund for the project called Breathe, Kid, Tengrinews reports. Banderas arrived in Almaty from Moscow where he presented his animated movie Justin and the Knights of Valour where the actor provided a voice for the main character. Antonio Banderas has for one day become a bank clerk in Almaty. He is serving the clients at Kaspi Bank. Thousands of people willing to deposit money with the bank where the star of Desperado works lined up near the bank since early morning. It is yet unclear how many of them will be able to get a to Banderas. According to the organizers he only requirement is that the deposit is over $100. At the press-conference in Almaty Banderas told that his mother always dreamt that he became a bank employee. “Finally, my mother’s dream comes true. I will call her in the evening and tell her: “Mom, I work in a bank in Kazakhstan”,” the actor joked. Antonio Banderas has been a goodwill ambassador of the UN Development Program since 2011. The actor stands against violence against women around the world. “I’ve heard that Kazakhstan has a problem of violence against women. I think that this is unacceptable in all of its forms and kinds. A man should not apply force against a woman. Those who do apply force against women are just monsters. They should not be forgiven. I am the goodwill ambassador working this issue and I have express my position clearly,” Banderas said. Answering the journalists’ questions, Banderas refuted the information that he was negotiating with Kazakhstan director on playing in the movie The Whole World at Our Feet, noting that he frequently read things in the media that had nothing to do with the reality. After Almaty he will fly for shooting of a new movie by Paramount Pictures in Savanna. Besides, his work on The Expendables-3 has been completed recently.
