Mariinsky Theater Symphony Orchestra will come to Kazakhstan on May 1, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Kazakhstan Culture Ministry. On May 1 the orchestra and its famous director People's Artiste of Russia Valery Gergiev will perform in Astana at the Central Concert Hall Kazakhstan (10/1 Orynbor street). The musicians will perform a bright and diverse program consisting of the following compositions: Schedrin's Comic Couplets, Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No.3 and Tchaikovsky's Symphone No.5. On May 2 Mariinsky Theater Symphony Orchestra and Gergiev will come to Almaty. Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No.3 (solo by Denis Matsuev) and Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition will be performed at the Abai State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater (crossing of Panfilov and Kabanbai batyr streets). The performances will start at 7:00 p.m. both in Astana and in Almaty. The orchestra's visit to the two largest cities of Kazakhstan is gonig to be part of The Moscow Easter Festival. In 16 days Mariinsky Theater Symphony Orchestra and Valery Gergiev will give concerts in several Russian cities, Almaty, Astana, Kiev, Vilnius and Minsk.
