Marat Bissengaliyev and ST Brothers to record Abai composition in London

Famous British musician and composer Karl Jenkins has invited the renowned Kazakhstan violinist Marat Bissengaliyev, the frontman of ST Brothers Serik Nurmoldayev and the participant of Turan band Abzal Arykbayev to London, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the concert manager of KS Production Alikhan Mussatayev. The musicians will work together with a symphonic orchestra on Abai composition written by Karl Jenkins. The composition will involve many folk instruments that will create a unique and interesting mixture of classic and folk music. Jenkins is an honorary member of the Royal Music Academy, Cardiff University, Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Triniti-College Carmarthen and Swansea Metropolitan University. Jenkins was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2005 New Year Honours and Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the 2010 Birthday Honours. Young musician Serik Nurmoldayev graduated from Kurmangazy conservatory. He plays several instruments, including Kazakh national instruments like dombra, piano, sabyzgy, shan-kobyz and others. He is part of Turan folk-ethnographic band and ethno-jazz duet ST Brothers since 2010.
