Kazakhstan’s Village Escape join TOP-3 of Korean TV Series Festival Escape from the Village-2

Kazakhstan-made Village Escape 2 TV series is participating in the Seoul International Drama Awards, Tengrinews.kz reports. It has made it into the TOP-3 by audience voting. Famous Kazakhstan actor Nurtas Adambayev is the author of the humorous story. Channel 7 nominated the TV series for the contest and it was a great surprise to Adambayev. “It was a pleasant surprise for me,” he said. “If they invite us to the Festival we will come for sure,” he said. “It would be very interesting to try ourselves at the prestigious world festival and compete for the Best TV Series Award with TV giants like the USA, the UK and Turkey”. It was high time for Kazakhstan-made TV content to enter the global market, Adambayev said. “Participation and victory in international festivals of such level are important for us not only because of recognition. It is important that the audience sees that Kazakhstan-made movies and TV series are capable of competing with foreign products. It is important for me that we can show stories from everyday life of Kazakhstan’s young people to the world through participation of Village Escape 2 TV series in the Seoul Festival,” he said. The Kazakhstan TV series is ranked second now. It has gained more than eight million votes and is very close to winning the Most Popular Foreign TV Drama Award. Representatives of the TV channel told why they had nominated the TV Series for the Festival. “Filing an application to the festival we wanted to offer Kazakhstan-made content to the international audience and demonstrate the level of Kazakhstan-made products and its competitiveness,” general director of Channel 7 Aziza Shuzheyeva said. Village Escape TV series kicked off at Channel 7 two years ago. After the first season hit the screens and proved successful, it was decided to start shooting the second season. The series was quickly gaining popularity and audience in Kazakhstan. The Seoul International Drama Awards was established 8 years ago. Best world TV series participate in the festival every year. Famous British Sherlock was awarded with one of the festival's prizes in 2012. It is the first time a Kazakhstan product is taking part in the Festival.
