Roberto Kel Torres from Cuba has become the winner of the young pop singers' contest New Wave 2013 in Jurmala, Latvia, the official website of the contest says.
The Cuban singer scored 357 points after three days of the festival. Georgia's Salome Qatamadze was one point behind the winner. Vietnamese Vinh Khuat was in the 3rd place with 354 points. Kazakhstan singer Adam took the 5th place by gaining 347 points. The award giving ceremony was held on July 28 at the gala concert.
The prize pool of the New Wave made 100 thousand Euro. The winner was awarded with 50 thousand Euro. The 2nd place holder got 30 thousand Euro and the 3rd place winner was awarded with 20 thousand Euro. There was also an award from Jurmala municipal authorities, the people's choice award and MuzTV channel prize at the contest.
