According to the Minister, the channel will not be positioned at a similar level as CNN, BBC and Euronews giants. “The channel is new. We will be offering our viewers programs of a very high quality. I think this is the first HD channel in the former Soviet space and in Central Asia. This is the channel that complies with all the global standards,” Mynbay said. He also said that 24.KZ would be the first Kazakhstan TV-channel with a large-scale broadcasting in HD quality. The channel is a part of Khabar Agency and this will allow it to involve Khabar news offices in the regions. The channel’s management will stick to the principle of “news every 30 minutes”. The Minister did not comment on the funds that would be annually allocated from the state budget to maintain the new channel. “In fact, there is money, it is guaranteed. All the required funds have prepared for this year and several following years,” Mynbay said. The official presentation of the TV-channel was held at night on September 1 at the square next to the TV-radio complex. 24.KZ started broadcasting at 12:00 a.m. By Renat Tashkinbayev
